Summarize the purpose of your Genius Hour project in 140 characters.
The purpose of my Genius Hour project was to find most of the animals at the animal shelter a loving home and inspire more people to volunteer with the animals. Explain the process of your Genius Hour project. Be reflective. Be contemplative. Explain and describe your journey. (No Less Than Three FULL Paragraphs.) To start this journey i had to apply at the animal shelter. After turning in my application they didn’t exactly call me back immediately. I had to call them and return a few times asking when i could come in to help. It was a very long process to volunteer but it was all worth it the moment they called back asking me to volunteer in the afternoons whenever I could. The owners of the shelter and other volunteers were so helpful and kind. Day after day I walked dogs, played with cats, and cleaned cages growing to love the animals and people at the shelter. The hardest part of my genius hour project was seeing these animals go but it was so rewarding knowing they were going to loving homes. The intention For Genius Hour is NOT only to learn, but ALSO to share your knowledge with others who can and will benefit from your learning. How did you share your learning? What do you hope the result might be? (No Less Than Two Full Paragraphs.) I hope that others can learn to help animals to the best of their abilities. Every animal deserves to be with a loving family with many family members that can show each animal the affection that it needs. To help others learn that they can help others, by helping them to find animals that could help with any issues that someone may have. If you could do anything different with your Genius Hour project what would you do differently and why? (No less than two full paragraphs.) If I was to change one thing about my genius hour project it would have been to try and volunteer sooner and be able to spend more time with the animals while I could. I also wanted to try and do a fundraiser for the animal shelter to get the animals more supplies. Over all I’m happy with my genius hour project. I got to make new friends at the volunteer shelter and finding loving homes for some amazing animals. It was hard seeing them go but i’m happy they have a loving home getting the love and affection they deserve. |
